Privatization is good but...

When I was reading this, a question came in my mind that is it good to sell strategic resources like Gas and Petrol because I think these resources are very Important and should be under control of government because during period of war these resources are very demanding.Since these resources will not be in govt's hand so i think it could be difficult to command owners to obey govt's decisions.Just a layman thought, experts could shed more light upon this.People across the border also have concerns about similar issue.

Between is it good to privatise Pakistan Steel mill? What do you say?

Uff yeh Aurtain!!!!!!!!!!!!

MAKKAH, 27 June 2006 — A fight erupted in a Makkah shopping center with five women keen on buying the same wedding dress, the daily Al-Nadwa reported yesterday. The smack-down started after two women came into a shop, saw a dress they liked, then asked the owner to hold the dress while they returned from perusing other apparel stores in the mall. When they returned to buy the dress, they found three other women admiring the item. An argument quickly devolved into a fight among the women. The dress was damaged when the women resorted to using it as a tug-of-war rope. Police had to be called in to intervene.

This morning when I was coming to office via Lasbella/Nazimabad Chorangi,I saw several black patches on roads which emerged due to burning of tyres by residents of Lasbella. This frustration was the outcome of continuous loadsheding of 12/14 hours.Even they have suffered 3 or 4 days without any power and water.

When will Faiz’s dream come true? Or we will keep suffering like that.I don’t know, I have no answer. All I know that no messenger will come from heaven above us and motivate us or guide us. Everything has already been provided to us,its just we have to get rid of curtain which is in front of our eyes for ages.

Lonely Americans

In one of my previous posts I  was complaining about my life style which was not social at all and discussed reasons behind that and then my new activities for keeping myself busy and one of them was Internet too. I didn’t mention it or discussed it indirectly by saying that I was coding on Sunday.New studies show that Americans have been getting anti-social and not getting engaged with people in real life. From the article in science blog: The study compared data from 1985 and 2004 and found that the mean number of people with whom Americans can discuss matters important to them dropped by nearly one-third, from 2.94 people in 1985 to 2.08 in 2004. The research doesn’t indicate clear reasons behind this change but I feel that Internet could be one of the reason behind this big change. Living in cyber world, wasting time with people who are stranger for us and discussing useless things for hours  made you not to discuss important things with your closed friends.Internet has become pretty common among Pakistanis and now you can see people from small cities and villages seek girls online for sex or for love rather try to build some good relationship. This situation is very different than 96/97 when I was new in Internet world and used to lots of chatting on Pakistani channel.  I came cross with many good people who were very active in real life at that time but you hardly find same condition now even when the same irc channel doesn’t look similar anymore and now you don’t like to make a friend from cyber world. I was lucky to meet people in cyber world who were good enough that they helped me in real life problems too and I am still in touch with them by other means. I have met/talked few personally when they were visiting Pakistan. In short you can’t find such thing anymore and this new era keeps making us isolated seamlessly. Unlike America, I live in a society where friends and family gathering is very common. Thanks to our joint-family system but West where we doesn’t find concept of a family has no other choice then making online friends.

I can just hope that we don’t copy west here and rather stick with our own values and traditions which are healthy for our lives.

What are we?

This evening when KESC cut the power off at 7:30pm,it really made me mad as the match between Germany and Sweden was about to start so I got up and made a call to local KESC complaint center and the conversation between me and complaint center guy become reason to write this post. Following was conversation between us.

Me: Hello, KESC?

KESC guy: ji haan

Me: Yaar tum ney light band kardi aur itna important match shuru honay wala tha.

KESC guy: Aap ko match ki pari hui hay aur yahan itney log mar rahay hain.

(This unexpected answer made me pissed.)

Me: Zahir se baat hay jab tum log isi tarha load sheding karo gay tu operation theater mey banda maray ga hee.

KESC guy: acha hey na abaadi kam hogi.

(This cruel response really made me mad)

Me: Tu pehley apna khandaan key logoun ko khatam karo ?

KESC guy: Who mar gaye(I knew he could come up with this answer only as his family was attacked, so he was trying to be brave).

Rest of conversation is irrelevant to the topic so I am not going to discuss it but that little conversation between me and the KESC guy made me to ponder that what is worth of our nation for our own people. We used to hear things like that outer world don’t give importance to Pakistanis who live abroad and there is discrimination everywhere even in Saudi Arabia (I personally experienced it).We also hear that politicians don’t give a damn to awam and they approach to people only at the time of election but what will you say about this attitude by a servant of an organization which is supposed to serve people of Karachi? Are we awaam are really so unimportant and unwanted for every other politician and organization that our existence is considered a burden upon them?

I should not blame that guy at all. Why? Because we ourselves left impression upon world, our politicians and people of such orgs that we are coward rats, we can’t raise voice on any violence which we suffer. We will keep saying bad things to government, politicians and system but we won’t come forward to go against them.

This attitude of KESC guy might not be important for many people as they would ignore it by swearing them and feels that they have done their part. When I told this conversation to the gym instructor of my area where I often go, he replied by saying R*** key bachay hain woh, usko bolo apni maa ko****. I know people like him or say like us could just say things like that; it doesn’t help us at all rather it becomes reasons to commit more sins by calling names.

So, as I was saying that the attitude of KESC guy can’t be ignored at all and it has been bothering me since the conversation. Where are we going? Is this sign of some bad thing in future? I am not disappointed but yes I am a bit afraid that what this attitude of organizations will result for the people of this city and country. Right now I don’t think I have any solution beside that we come out of inertia and starts realizing our importance. God says clearly that He can’t be helpful and supportive unless the nation itself takes initiative.

We are the people who prefer to ignore things and this attitude is very wrong. Let me give you an example of my own family.

For last couple of months, my cable service provider Satcomm has been teasing us by not giving proper services. I am not big fan of TV except sports but my mom’s only entertainment is the TV so she also gets upset when the service doesn’t work well. This month Satcomm was supposed to install new decoder at my home along with new fiber connection for transmission. They came after 20 days in my absence and installed the new connection along with decoder which was supposed to add 32 channels more. There was guest at home therefore Mom and Dad couldn’t check it properly and those cable guys were in real hurry that they also didn’t bother to show it. Later when I came back to home, my mom complaint me that cable is not working properly (its still not working).I literally made 15/20 calls but no one showed up. I said to my parents not to give them a single penny to the coming month. Today that topic came up again and when I repeated my words, ammi was like “Who MQM k log hongay, unse ulajhney se kia faida”. I replied that regardless of that they are MQM people or not they shouldn’t be given money since they already didn’t provide the services but ammi was frightened and asked me to “ignore it” and since I was already mad due to KESC guy’s response, I said ammi that I won’t ignore it and they should be realized that they re doing wrong. We don’t show them mirror therefore people like KESC guy, Satcomm services will always dominate on us.

Believe me we don’t deserve to raise finger upon others unless we fix ourselves because when you raise your finger then rest of your fingers actually point to you. The day we learn this lesson, we will get rid of so many bad things automatically without using any weapon or govt’s help.

I am not a preacher neither I am some good person. I believe I am the worst among you because most of the things are not acted upon by me but I don’t think I should keep myself silent just because I am not doing anything. Maybe my words give courage to someone who actually has guts to make some difference. Who knows.

Where is Iraq??

After more than three years of combat and nearly 2,400 U.S. military deaths in Iraq, nearly two-thirds of Americans aged 18 to 24 still cannot find Iraq on a map.

The most intresting part of the news is

after Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, 33 percent could not point out Louisiana on a U.S. map.

The University of Newcastle's NUBots beat off strong competition from around the world in Bremen, Germany, to take out the grand final of The Four-Legged League in which 24 teams of robotic dogs compete in a World Cup-style soccer play-off.

Hopefully, the mullahs don't see this clip, else another fatwa is coming towards Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie. Enjoy, at your own risk!!!

Get ready for Hoax "Paris Hilton becomes Muslim"

I wonder where is her wife??

Kia Karain Kia na karain

I had already planned on Friday that I would write some pending piece of software codes which I had been planning for a couple of weeks. Sitting in front of computer and writing code on Sunday sounds insane, doesn’t it? But I had no other choice.

“Man is a social animal”. This doesn’t fit on me at all. I don’t know why people of ancient times used to pick single or few instances by assuming that it applies on everyone? Anyway, I am not some isolated person at all, its just I failed to find some good gathering for spending some time for myself. Yes I am not a party guy at all and always avoid to go in family marriages and parties that why I always fail to memorize name of people of my family which is not lesser than any galaxy on sky.I have a big dadihaal and nanihal but I know only people of two-tiers only. Tier one consist of my first cousins and khala, phuppi etc etc and 2nd tier is first cousins of my phoppo, kahala etc therefore if I ever go in some party or wedding and some old of my family ask me like “Aur adnan mian pehchana hamain?” then I feel myself the most stupid and dumbest person on earth. I know I don’t do right but..these things are not of my type. My mother and khaala etc used to say that “jab bv aye gi tu sab jaga janay ko ji chahe ga” then they give example of my mamoo who changed so rapidly after their marriages that even Darwin will admit change is more faster than the evolution itself.

Actually problem is that I am not in touch of many of my closed friends. Most of school friends got spoofed like “Gadhay k sir se seeng” and those who are here are very much busy with their wives. Now as a bachelor I feel so weird to bug them frequently as they have their own circle. Some of them have been blessed with children as well so it gets more difficult to do awara gardi like we used to do in school times.

College friends, I had hardly any friend in college because there is no concept to go college regularly in Karachi, especially there was no such thing in 94/95 so I didn’t know names of guys over there. The only reason for going college was Hasan Akbar Kamal and I always tried my best to attend his lecture. Hasan Akbar was a good English teacher, beside that he was a good urdu poet as well and few of his songs were sung by singers like Tina Sani.Khair,I made few friends during NCC training. One I remember was Kashif Ahmed who did his graduation from NED and then left for US.I don’t remember anyone else.Ah NCC,those were days, khair its beyond the topic so quite useless to elaborate it further.

In university we were group of four guys, offcourse one of them was me .I explored many food places during university life. Yes engineering is not like arts but yar ab itni bhe muskil nahi k banda ghoomey nahin. One of my group members Asim got married after an year of graduation, other had flown for Oman. Danish is at Microsoft now and in SMS server group. Rizwan also got married in February of last year and busy in his life and with wife. Therefore I am totally isolated now. I do meet with my ex offices colleagues and recently I went creek-Inn for a dinner with them but such things are very rare.

I had been planning to visit Salman for last 9/10 months but “time he nahi milta”. Oh salman is my old time buddy. Not much old just he was introduced by other friend wasif who passed his electrical engineering from NED and now working at HP. If I remember he is in silicon valley.Wasif is totally transformed into a yank and doesn’t like Karachi anymore thatswhy I don’t like to talk him now.

Khair, I was talking about salman.Salman also got married last year and curse me that I am so bad that I didn’t give any party to the newly wed couple. How moron I am. Salman literally helped me a lot during studies, though we were in different varsities but our field was similar. Salman was good in hardware and programming and so many times I used to call him after 11:00 PM night and most of time his response was positive. I used to live in Nazimabad no: 1. At that time me and salman often used to go Agha Juice corner or for Chicken Corn soup near Al-hasan.

Things are very changed now even I find so many changes in me and many of then are seamless that I never felt them but they exist. There was a time when I often used to watch few programs on TV but curse upon Ekta Kapoor and her family that they produced such horrible and insane TV programs that my mother never allowed me to change the channel between 8 and 10 pm. Therefore, I had no choice other than giving up. Now even if I try to watch movie or program, I get bored. Yes I still watch sports like cricket, wrestling etc but there is no such passion or determination to watch them anyway. Change of priorities I must say hmmm. But I am planning to buy Chinese device for my computer so that I can watch World cup 2007 cricket matches easily and freely in my own room.

I also bought few books from urdu bazaar ,couldn’t finish them all, Qudrat Ullah Shahab’s Maa Ji has yet to finished. I don’t know why but there is something which irk me in a way that I don’t consider it harmful but its definitely affecting on my personality. What is that I don’t know at all. May be I have given so much importance to my priorities that I have forgotten myself. That’s all I have figure out yet. Anyway, self revealing is very lame in my sight but I am still doing it.Noman thinks that whatever he writes is not public therefore he doesn't like to reveal his identity.I disagree with it because when you dont want to tell then why are you telling indirectly? You might be hiding your name etc but you are still unveiling your personality which matters most.Khair uski thinking not mine.Nobody gives a damn about other neither I do.

Its 1:40AM now and I am yawning big time, so lazy to shave right now so I would prefer to shave my face early morning. Oh by the way I forgot to tel you that I didn’t write a single piece of code at all. Just wasted another day in useless things.

Did you notice that???

These days I have been reciving emails about death of danish cartoonist.Usually the content is same:

the artist who drew the pictures of the Prophet Muhammed (S.A.W)has died in a fire. He was burned alive. Denmark government is hiding the news from the public and everyone has got to know.

Weird,no source provided and its said tht its being kept secret. Now i personally believe its just being spreaded with a plan, most of our emotional and unedcuated muslims will come out on roads and start chanting "Allah Akbar".

Please don't take impression that I have no love for Muhammd(SAW).Its just i dont consider myself stupid enough to believe in such baseless news and start spreading them to others.Neither my belief and my religion is weaker enough that I start thinking that Islam was in danger.

Mian and Bibi

Nasty but hilarious!!.My friend Saad sent me this today.Have fun:)

Mian sahib wanted to raise money for his party, and on being told that there was a fortune in horse racing, decided to purchase one and enter it in the races. However at the local auction, the going price for a horse was very high so he ended up buying a donkey instead.

He figured that since he had it he might as well go ahead and enter it in the races. To his surprise, the donkey came in third!

The next day the local paper said: "MIAN'S ASS SHINES".

Mian sahib was so pleased with the donkey that he entered it in the race again, and this time it won.

The paper read: "MIAN'S ASS OUT IN FRONT"

His wife was so upset with this kind of publicity that she ordered Mian sahib not to enter the donkey in another race.

The paper headline read: "WIFE SCRATCHES MIAN'S ASS"

This was too much for Mrs. Mian. So she ordered Mian sahib to get rid of the donkey. Mian sahib decided to give it to Benazir.

The paper headline the next day read: "BENAZIR TAKES MIAN'S ASS".

Followed by another on the next day:

"NOW BENAZIR HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN".

All the opposition leaders got very upset at this kind of publicity. They informed Benazir that she would have to get rid of the donkey.
So she sold it to a farmer for Rs.500.

Next day the headline read: "BENAZIR SELLS HER ASS FOR Rs.500"

This was too much for the veteran opposition leader, Nawabzada Nasrullah Khan, so he ordered Benazir to buy back the donkey, lead it to the plains where it could run wild and free.

Next day, the headline in the paper read:
"BENAZIR ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE"

Another win for Pakistan

Hamza Sheikh, a Pakistani boy, made the country appear in the list of 33 prize winning countries at the prestigious Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) held at Indianapolis, USA

The award came his way when he displayed his project on the 'Effectiveness of Pea Flower as an Effective Bio-insecticide'. Judges (all PhDs in Chemistry) were impressed by his work, which was based on an experiment that covered an important environmental issue, which is the use of chemical pesticides. He has proved that the flour made of pea is effective against Red Flour Beetle in flour and weevil in rice.

Sucide bombing-Facts and Myths

There is an intresting research results listed on Science Blog about reasons behind sucide bombing. From the article.
By examining statements made by bombers, their families or representatives from organizations they claimed to be working for, the authors found that attacks were not generally governed by a strategic logic, as is often believed to be the case, but were motivated by a desire for revenge. By examining events that preceded each specific attack, they found that particular Israeli actions such as killings prompted most attacks. "For the most part," they write, bombers "gave up their lives to avenge the killing of a close relative, as retribution for specific attacks against the Palestinian people or as payback for perceived attacks against Islam."

Important paragraph:

This suicide bombing campaign simply isn't working in the sense that the Palestinians are not realizing any strategic gains as a result, says Brym. On the other side of the conflict, he says, "Israeli acts of oppression are also counter-productive. If you go out and engage in a targeted killing, as the Israeli security services often do, that can result in more suicide bombings taking place -- which in turn results in more targeted killings. There's a macabre dance taking place.

I have been preaching on every forum for years that there is no relation of sucide bombing with Islam or 72 virgins promised by God.As its mentioned in the research that the main motive behind such cruel and desprate act is to take revenge,to kill the "enemy" which is zions offcourse who occupied the land by imposing lame biblic theories which dont exist at all.If sucide bombing is part of Islam then I would have killed myself by now.

How would you react if someone occupies your home for days. Will you run to refer Quran,Bible or Geeta to find out procuderes to kick *enemy* out? OR you will think to apply certain tactics to kick the person out of your home and save family. What if that person kill your wife or your only beloved son?will you start doing politics or will wait for your neighbors to save you?when someone loved one is killed, you will loose your senses, believe me.Dont we cry wild when our loved one die?So how that pain is more severe than tha pain which you suffer after killing of your loved ones. One could advise for patience and calm.Ok,fine but doesnt that person have right to take any step to save rest of his family?

When WTC was attacked by planes,America destroyed two countries in reaction because their homeland was attacked by their enemies. So only US has right to fight against enemies? In this way every american soldier who destroyed iraq and afghanistan to save his homeland is a Jihadi because He struggled to save his homeland.I am always labeled pro-terrorism by most of non-muslims on different forums because I preach tthat they use their bodies as *weapon* to kill enemies because they have not been equipped with guns and missiles.Take every weapon from the american army in iraq and i will see how do they fight against their enemies. It is so unfair that Isralities can keep weapons but not palestinians?is this really a fair war?uh?
By the way sucide bombing is not an Islamic product?it was introduced by tamils in India long time back and they used similar tactic to kil rajev gandhi, the PM of India. So were they muslims?or were they jihadists who were promised to be rewarded 72 virgins in Paradise?

I wonder why christians and jews extreemist forget that they are not following a religion which is perfect.I can comeup various verses from OT which justifies killing of muslims in Palestine.I am not claiming that bible orders to kill *muslim infidels*,its just misinterpetition about Quran and Bible due to lack of understanding.Hypocricy rules. For me there is no difference between Pat Robertson,Ann coulter and Aimen Zaharwi .These people always gave wrong image of Christianity and Islam to outerworld and sad part is that many people actually believe in such morons. As long as west dont quit hypocricy, nothing better will come out.If you think such tactics really remove Islam from face of earth then i bet you are living in foolds paradise.

And Nadal wins

I am a not big fan of tennish but players like Sampras and Federer always tempted me to sit infront of my TV.Yesterday Nadal defeated world #1 Roger Federer in a thrilling match. No doubt the guy gave a tough fight to Federer and played some very good shots. It was kinda disappointment for me since i am a big fan of Federer. One thing i noticed that Federer's girlfriend was not there. Was that the reason that he gave up in the end? *grin*

Ordinance for controlling goods rates and our responsibility

I read this news in Jang. This is a very needy step and I think gove has done its part.Look we all know that inspectors will take bribe from shopkeepers and thela walas so there is no hope that something can be controll from their end but if we realize then we have more power than govt and those inspectors. What all is required that whenever you go to some shop, thela or whatever, ask for price list,a list given by govt.If they dont provide you any, just walk away.Dont say anything at all.I am sure this silent movement will really break the back of all those shopkeepers who just increase goods rate for their own intrest.I already started acted upon this in my own areas. You start in your own areas and its not a difficult task.We should not depent on govt all the time and there are few things which need to be done at our own end.

What was her fault?

This picture really made me sick. Its more horrible than any suspense movie you would ever seen on TV.This is a still image but it made me shivering.Imagine how would that appear in real face.A scream that would have heard by residents of sky and heaven, wouldn't they?

She is suffering because she is daughter of a palestinian muslim?thats it?Is she less worthy than a jewish kid who would have been killed in hammas attacks in reaction? What kinda politics will we do now?Non-muslims who are touchy to be called as Infiedel would keep their eyes shut now and wont say a word against IDF
who have been following Zechariah 13:3 NAB according to which everyone who doesnt follow Bible must be killed and we muslims meet that criteria pretty well.

Yes same media dont get tired of referring Surah Tauba of Quran(9:5) for backing up their hollow statment Quran orders to kill Infidels, ignoring the fact that verse was revealed at the time of battle between muslims and Quriesh.

May Yahweh/God/Allah keeps all kids of the world safe from crappiest political groups like IDF,Hammas and others.Ameen.

Gimme some space!!

It seems that Google buys storage devices at very very cheap rate thatswhy they keep coming up with weirdest tools and systems which are only possible if you have lots of storage.Gmail,Google search,Google Bookmark, all of these services heavily rely on backend storage devices whick keep trillians amout of data at Googleplex based servers.

I am a big fan of google products and use 60% of their products. Yesterday Google released Google Browser Sync. A firefox extension which stores your bookmarks, session, cookies save passwords on remote google servers which you can later acces on other PC where you have facility of FireFox and offcourse the extension.Sounds good but kinda security risk like I would prefer to keep passwords in my own memory rather in memory of some remote server. Such tools are very handy no doubt about that but will someone like me prefer to keep his online shopping passwords store in remote machines?I dont think so.

Since google always exhibit infinite amount of web space via different tools and systems, will it not be good if google give chance to other people, specially software engineers to use their space for their tools rather rely on google tools or extend it via APIs? There are few things which I want to do and which are depandant on remote storage but I just stop myself because its kinda costly to me.I have my own space as well but its like Zero infront of Google servers.Since google is generous enough to keep our things freely in their machines,if they give us access to use their storage for our own written systems then world could see lots of goodies for daily use which could benefit humanity as well.

Aqib Jawed speaks about Sports and Religion

Aqib jawed

Yesterday i got chance to watch another episode of geo's famous program Ek Din Geo k Saath
in which Aqib jawed was being interviewed. At one stage host sohail warraich asked him about religious influence on current Pakistani team. What he replied was very lame to me.He said that current image of muslims is not good and current physical appearance of players doesn't look good so therefore it should be quit.He further added that current team could not be compared with Imran khan's team(BTW he was being a big butt licker of Imran Khan in Interview,i dont know why.) because they looked more handsome,he didnt use the word handsome but this is what he wanted to say. What a moron!!.His idiotic statment tempted me to make this post(Thanks anyway Aaqib).

I am just wondering that why a sportsman can't be religious or could appear as religious in field?Somebody tell to aqib that this is not with Pakistani team or with muslims only. Many players in world do demonstrate their association with religion. For instance famous wrestler Tripple-H.

TrippleH

Do you see cross sign on his forehead? This is his style to make entry in arena. If you are fan of wrestling then you would have noticed his underwear with Cross sign on it.I dont say its wrong. Its his right to demonstrate his association with his belief, similarly other also have right to demonstrate their associations with religion. Therefore, its nothing wrong if we have players like Saeed anwar,Inzy and Afridi in beard. It doesnt make them ugly.

Saeed anwar with Junaid Jamshed

Because these Indian and English cricket players also dont ugly or fundamentalist at all.

Monty-England Spinner

I am not much into sports and cricket, hockey or sometimes soccer are the games which I would watch on TV.Therefore i made a search online to search articles about players' association with religion and found few intresting facts.According to this article:

Deion Sanders, the former bad boy of two sports, is now a devout Christian, and when he returned to baseball this week, he pointed his fingers to the sky three times during his first home-run trot in three years.

Sandy Koufax, probably the greatest lefthanded pitcher ever and an observant Jew, made international headlines in 1965 because he refused to pitch the first game of the World Series for the Dodgers because it fell on Yom Kippur.

Vince Lombardi, the legendary coach of the Green Bay Packers, took his team to Catholic mass every Sunday before games

So i think its NOTHING wrong to exercise religion during game or by players.Everyone has right to do it.If aqib fails to understand this basic thing then its not others fault.By the way i never believed he was some good player. Once he took 7 wickets in sharjah match against India and I do believe that whole credit doesnt goes to him, some work done by umpires as well.
